Pancreas Operations
Pancreas is the organ lying behind the lower part of the stomach. The pancreas secretes enzymes that aid digestion and hormones that help regulate the metabolism of sugar.

Types of Pancreas Operations:
01.
Acute Pancreatitis
Acute Pancreatitis means inflammation of the pancreas that develops quickly. The main symptom is tummy (abdominal) pain. It usually settles in a few days but sometimes it becomes severe and very serious. The most common causes of acute pancreatitis are gallstones and drinking a lot of alcohol.
02.
Chronic Pancreatitis
Chronic Pancreatitis is a long-standing inflammation of the pancreas that alters the organs normal structure and functions. It can present as episodes of acute inflammation in a previously injured pancreas, or as chronic damage with persistent pain or malabsorption.
03.
Benign Pancreatic SOLs
Cystic lesion in a variety of organs are being increasingly recognized as an incidental finding on cross-sectional imaging. These lesions can be benign, premalignant or malignant. When the cystic lesions are small it can be difficult to characterize them radiologically.
04.
Pancreatic Cysts
Pancreatic Cysts are saclike pockets of fluid on or in your pancreas. Pancreatic cysts are typically found during imaging testing for another problem.
05.
Pancreatic Tumors
- Pancreatic tumors or cancers can form in the head or body of Pancreas.
- Pancreatic head tumor and periampullary cancers present as jaundice.
- They need early evaluation and diagnosis, so that they can be treated surgically as these cancers spread rapidly.
- Operations for such cancers require major surgeries like WHIPPLE’S PANCREATODUODENECTOMY, DISTAL PANCREATECTOMY etc.
