What happens when you reach out to us Chapter 01

The first step

What happens when you reach out to us

The first call is the hardest. You don’t need the right words.

  • Call or WhatsApp us. We listen first. No forms, no hold music, no call centre.
  • Share your reports when you’re ready. We review them personally, not an assistant.
  • You hear back in 48 hours, in plain language you can share with your family.
What happens during your first visit Chapter 02

Your first consultation

What happens during your first visit

Come with your family. Come with your questions. We have time.

  • Dr. Sahota reviews your case in detail. Nothing is rushed.
  • Every option is explained, including the option not to operate yet.
  • We speak in Hindi, Punjabi, or English, whichever feels natural.
  • You leave with a written summary, so nothing depends on memory.
What happens during the tests before surgery Chapter 03

The evaluation

What happens during the tests before surgery

We need to know your body very well before we do anything to it.

  • Blood work, scans, heart and lung checks, dental clearance, tissue typing.
  • Usually spread over two to three weeks, often without hospital admission.
  • Tests can be coordinated with your home city if travel is difficult.
  • One transplant coordinator stays with you through every appointment.
What happens as you prepare for surgery Chapter 04

The weeks before

What happens as you prepare for surgery

The quiet weeks before matter more than most people expect.

  • A clear written cost estimate, with what is and is not included.
  • A nutrition, exercise, and infection-prevention plan tailored to you.
  • Insurance, Ayushman Bharat, and CGHS paperwork handled by our team.
  • A family briefing on what to expect during and after surgery day.
What happens on the day of surgery Chapter 05

Surgery day

What happens on the day of surgery

Our team manages everything at the hospital, so your family can focus on being there for you.

  • A dedicated coordinator stays with your family the full day.
  • Updates every two to three hours during the operation.
  • A direct, unhurried briefing from Dr. Sahota once you are stable.
  • ICU for 24 to 48 hours, then shifted to the ward as you recover.
What happens after you go home Chapter 06

Coming home

What happens after you go home

You will feel different. That is not a setback. That is healing.

  • Your medication, diet, and precautions written down in plain Hindi or English.
  • Follow-ups at two, four, eight, and twelve weeks, then quarterly.
  • A 24/7 helpline for you and your family, for any question, anytime.
  • Most patients return to work in three to four months. Travel follows.
  • We stay your team for life. Not just for the surgery.
What happens if you are thinking about donating Chapter 07

For potential donors

What happens if you are thinking about donating

You are doing something few people ever do. We never take that lightly.

  • You get your own medical team, independent from the patient’s.
  • Indian law protects you: informed consent, independent review, right to withdraw.
  • You can say no at any point, right up to the operating room. Nobody can override that.
  • Donor surgery is shorter. Your liver regrows to full size within three months.
  • You will meet the recipient. Many donors call this the most meaningful moment of their life.
If this helped

We wrote a pocket guide for this. Shall we send it?

A short, printable PDF with everything here plus the numbers, dates and decisions we wish every family had in one place. Dr. Sahota’s coordinator will also call you within 48 hours, with answers specific to where you are in this journey.

What we noted

Nothing yet. Scroll back up, answer a question or two, and we will tailor what we send you.

We have it. Now breathe.

Your pocket guide is on its way. Dr. Sahota’s coordinator will call you within 48 hours. Until then, rest. You have already done the hardest part, which is reaching out.
